Fiat 500
Topolino
This is how it looked when I found it.

It is being restored by a trusted restoration Company in Nottingham.
I am very fortunate to have a good friend and his uncle guide me through how to do this. They are both highly knowledgeable and the uncle has one it bits currently in his garage that he is slowly putting back together.
This is how I am to approach it, unusual that I am trying to keep it as original as possible.
To leave the bodywork as it is only to seal the inside and apply a rust protector. On the outside to apply a make a mix of old engine oil and WD40 to the bodywork. Any bodywork parts that have rusted will be cut out and new steel inserted but not repainted to match in. The running gear the wheels, brakes and tyres will all be repaired and made to work. The Mechanicals the engine and gearbox will have the necessary work done on them so the car will not break down. That is the theory. The Interior I am able to do. I am washing seats made in vinyl fabric and having to re make the wooden base then re upholster one of them. The canvas roof is badly damaged and patched but I intend to keep patching and repairing it so a new one is never needed.
I will keep a blog on the repair work and then the future of the car as one day I would like to race it in the Mille Miglia in Italy.
